The myriad hues of organizational culture are often difficult to fathom. In essence, organizational culture encompasses a plethora of diverse elements as leadership, organizational structure, roles of project teams, internal control systems, internal power structures, reporting relationships, employee empowerment, corporate governance, communication mechanisms, and opportunities for professional development. This short assignment endeavours to focus on ONE element of organizational culture and elucidate its influence in resolving conflict in the workplace. You are free to select ONE organization of your choice (public sector, private sector, NGO or even military organizations) from anywhere in the world and explain ONE element of culture that can help to resolve a major, intermediate or minor conflict in the workplace. For instance, less hierarchical structures often lead to easier resolution of conflict in comparison to highly centralized bureaucracies. Only a two or three-page summary is required, excluding the cover page and the last reference page. One academic or practitioner reference will suffice.
