The myriad hues of organizational culture are often highly reflective of the arcane realities of the corporate world. In essence, organizational culture encompasses a slew of diverse elements such as leadership, organizational structure, roles of project teams, internal control systems, internal power structures, reporting relationships, employee empowerment, corporate governance, communication mechanisms, and opportunities for professional development. This short assignment endeavours to focus on ONE element of organizational culture and elucidate its influence in resolving conflict in the workplace.  You are free to select ONE organization of your choice (public sector, private sector, Public-Private Partnership (PPP) NGO or even military organizations) from anywhere in the world and explain ONE element of culture that can help to resolve a major, intermediate or minor conflict in the workplace. You may also consider interesting anecdotes from the vast literature on organizational restructuring, mergers and take-over transactions and corporate bankruptcy. A typical observation is that in less hierarchical corporate structures, change is usually achieved at a lower opportunity cost. Only a two- page summary is required, excluding the cover page and the last reference page. One academic or practitioner reference will suffice.
