What is your emotional response to the artwork? What is it about the artwork that stirs this emotional response? What is it about the elements of the artwork that cause this response? Please explain with reference to the artwork. Look at all the little details.

Instructions:

Please provide a written answer each question individually, in paragraph form. If you do not wish to write, you can videotape yourself explaining each answer. Instead of being graded on writing, you will be graded on effective oral communication skills/presentation skills. Write approximately one paragraph per question. Some paragraphs might be longer than others, depending on the artwork chosen. Choose ONE of the artworks attached for your analysis.

This assignment is worth 10% of your final grade:

A grade of 8.5-10/10 marks is excellent – In order to get a grade like this you must put in the effort and thought. This means engaging in independent analysis, demonstrating originality and insightfulness, providing clearly expressed and thoughtful observations, and careful consideration of the artwork, using your own voice (not AI or internet sources) and ideas in your analysis. A submission that receives 8.5-10 marks is descriptive, discusses specific elements of the artwork, and uses examples to illustrate the points made. Writing should not be vague, general, or repetitive. Please stay on topic.

*note: if your submission is copied and pasted or summarized from  of other sources, you will receive a grade of zero, and no make up options will be available. You will also be reported for academic misconduct. You do not need to use outside sources besides the ones I have provided to write this assignment, but you may use outside sources if you want to learn more about a topic – i.e. a political issue that forms the context of the artwork. Just make sure to cite your sources in APA format.
